MEMBERS of St Paul's (Astley Bridge) AOS are hoping for a "full house" when they present the Bolton premiere of a new comedy.

But first the company needs to borrow an old bingo machine -- preferably complete with numbered balls. The production is a lively comedy, Respecting Your Piers, written by Peter Quilter.

In addition to the bingo machine, the company needs some old deck chairs and other seaside paraphernalia to help create the right seaside ambience.

Respecting Your Piers will be premiered on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, September 5, 6 and 7, 7.30pm, at the Theatre Church, Seymour Road, Bolton.

It tells the story of what happens when five people inherit a decrepit seaside pier and how they set about trying to raise money to restore it to its former glory.

Disputes and arguments ensue, creating much amusement for the audience. However, the play is not without pathos when things begin to go wrong.

The cast includes, among others, a mother and daughter team, Eileen and Emma Powell.

Mike Rodgers is directing the play which has attracted a rave review from West End playwright and actor Ray Cooney. Tickets, £5 and £4 concessions, from 01204 843391, or pay on the door.
