A WORSLEY company is helping the environment by taking up a new system of operating.
As part of an ongoing push to clean up its coatings removal process, MK Technologies has invested in a new chemical stripping system.
The four-tank process features a new organic cleaning chemical specially developed for the company.
"The new solution is non-toxic, has no odour or harmful side effects and can be safely rinsed off with water," said Paul Mullins, MK Technologies managing director.
Products such as small fittings, components, solenoid caps and extrusions, all widely used in industry, can now be cleaned safely using the new system.
"The products are simply dipped into the cleaning tank, then into water and spray rinse, before being finished off with a de-watering oil dip. They emerge clean and free from all paints, powder coatings, rust, dirt and other contaminations," added Paul.
Another environmentally helpful advantage of the system is that, by using a paper band filter system, the liquid can be used many times over so that there is no liquid waste or pollutant produced.
The process offers a cleaner alternative to blasting, the more traditional coatings removal process.
"Tank dipping also offers benefits of speed when cleaning smaller items, particularly those containing aluminium and zinc," said Paul.
MK Technologies is at the forefront of best-practice coatings removal processes and won a Groundwork Business Environment Association Award for commitment to environmental improvements.
