COULD Mr Gary Titley, Labour MEP for the North West, explain his "puzzle" to Mr Chris Davies, Liberal Democrat MEP for the North West.
In his letters to the Bolton Evening News of July 3, 2002, Mr Davies stated "British manufacturers have had to cut their margins and lose nearly 500,000". Mr Titley states "unemployment in Britain is now at the lowest level for a quarter of a century".
Which statement is correct, or does each statement serve the propaganda of the day?
Regarding the EU allocating £10.6m which might benefit Bolton for the re-use of industrial land. What Mr Titley does not mention is that, for every 50p grant from the EU, the taxpayers of Great Britain have to pay £1 into the coffers of the EU.
