SAM Allardyce insisted today that Ivan Campo is not a reluctant Reebok recruit.
The Real Madrid centre-back flew in from Spain yesterday afternoon to complete the formalities of a season-long loan deal, ending an on-off transfer saga that led Wanderers' fans to wonder whether the player wanted to come to Bolton.
But Allardyce admitted: "It's been our fault all the way along the line.
"We were trying to meet the wage demands and you can't blame a player or his agent for sticking out for what he can get.
"In the end, getting a loan deal was easier for us. It's been a long haul over the last four or five weeks but we've finally had to arrange a loan rather than the permanent one which has been talked about before."
