MERIT competition: Would team secretaries please ensure that the names of the top two players with the best overall average are forwarded in writing to Harold Orrell before September 6.

To qualify to play in the Merit Competition a player must have played in nine home and nine away matches, and to have played in three out of the last five games of the season. Should a player be unable to play in the competition, the next best average player can play as substitute. The competition is to be held at Moss Bank Park (both greens) on September 16 and 18.
