DARCY Lever CC A became champions of Section A following their 114-90 victory over Rupert Ladies A.
Darcy were dismissed for only 37 runs, only to restrict Rupert to 33 in an amazing first innings.
CRS won the Dixon Shield when they beat Horwich RMI 171-129. CRS held a 24 run lead at the half time interval. In the second innings CRS scored 93 runs with the "senior" member of the team, Margaret Dootson, top scoring with 18 runs. Her daughter and granddaughter were playing in the same team and had to watch and admire.
Royal Hotel beat Dale XI 255-228 to reach the final of the Healey Karwat competition in a game that lasted for two hours. They will be joined by Darcy Lever CC A who beat Pure Asphalt 304-276.
Barlow Park qualified for the final of the Dorothy Clarke Trophy when they beat Starlight XI 218-138. Tansy Green (Prices C) will join them as they just beat the youngsters of Walkden CC B 187-185.
The Chadwick Cup final between Darcy Lever CC A and Rupert Ladies A will be played at Heaton CC on Friday evening.
Play-offs for champions and runners up spots take place on Monday, September 2.
Any team who think they may be involved in the play-offs are asked to telephone Dennis Foulkes (results secretary) on 01204 417852, after their game, this is in addition to the home team forwarding the match card.
