Bolton Parish Church will be opening its doors to the public as part of the Civic Trust's English Heritage Weekend.
Doors will open from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, September 14, and from noon to 4pm on Sunday, September 15. Visitors will be invited to join in worship at 10.30am and 6.30pm on Sunday, and tours of the tower will run regularly on both days.
A concert celebrating 1,000 years of popular music is being held at the church as part of the weekend.
Tapestry of Music will be performed in period costume on an array of traditional musical instruments, including harps, nykelharpa, symphony, bombardes, flutes and bagpipes.
The concert takes place from 7.30pm on Saturday, September 14, and tickets can be purchased in advance by sending a cheque for £7 (£5 concessions) to Concert, Bolton Parish Church, Silverwell Street, Bolton, BL1 1PS.
Another local church taking part in the heritage weekend is the 1880 All Souls Church in Astley Street, off Blackburn Road.
