A DRIVE to improve basic skills in literacy and numeracy aims to improve employment opportunities in Bury.
The campaign, backed by Bury North MP David Chaytor and Bury South MP Ivan Lewis, is being co-ordinated by the Bury Learning Partnership.
Des Finn, chairman of the basic skills task group, said: "At the moment, of every 100 adults in Bury with perceived literacy and numeracy needs, only eight are accessing basic skills tuition. The aim is to change all that."
