HUNDREDS of children in the region are still awaiting a decision on which school they will be attending when the new term starts next week.
Around 480 children in Manchester are unsure where they will go to school, and the problem is being blamed on the high number of school admission appeals.
Manchester Council admit the number of appeals outstanding is unacceptable.
They say they are exploring all possible steps to deal with the backlog of appeals.
