POLICE were celebrating a step forward in the fight against drugs and drug-dealing in Lancashire today after netting large quantities of heroin, cocaine and crack-cocaine.
More than 20 homes in Skelmersdale were raided early this morning and 21 people were arrested. The operation, launched with Merseyside Police, came as part of Lancashire Police's Safer Streets Campaign.
Homes were also raided in Knowsley, Liverpool, and more than 24 people arrested. They were all being questioned today.
Today's operation involved more than 200 police officers.
It is thought to be one of the largest cross-boarder crack-downs on drug dealing across the country to date.
Supt Chris Weigh, of Lancashire Police, said: "We have identified drug dealing as a public priority and we are aiming to make an impact on resident's lives."
