POLICE are not expecting trouble for Bolton Wanderers' clash against Manchester United next week.
Nearly 1,000 tickets for the Old Trafford game on September 11 have been sold on the open market.
Officers policing the match say they will treat it just like any other game and will not be taking extra security precautions.
Violence nearly flared between rival fans when United played Wanderers at the Reebok last season. Supporters from both clubs gathered in separate pubs, but police split them before they could get into a fight.
United fans were escorted to the ground on a coach, which arrived with most of its windows smashed.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "The match between Manchester United and Bolton will be treated just like any other."
Bolton Wanderers fans have been allocated 3,020 tickets for the Old Trafford game.
But they could only be bought by members and they have now sold out.
There were believed to be about 600 tickets still available on the open market. They cost about £25 each.
"Security measures will be in place but the game will not be policed any differently from other league games at the ground.
