Wanderers' TV fans left without pictures for most of the final 20 minutes of the Aston Villa clash on Sunday are finally being offered some recompense writes Chris Sudlow
Initially, Sky TV's live Pay-For-View viewers were only told the company was "looking into it" after the pictures and commentary were lost owing to what was described as "horrendous" technical problems.
And even on Tuesday lunchtime, a further request for information received the same answer.
However, I now understand Sky has offered the money back or a free match in the future to viewers who contact them.
Pub landlords had paid up to £50 to screen the match and viewers at home paid up to £5 to see the game from the comfort of their own armchairs.
Match coverage only returned to the screens just before the end of the game.
A spokesman for Bolton Wanderers said the breakdown of the pay per view match coverage had nothing to do with them
"Sky have their own generators which they use to power their electrics and I believe their generators went down. I'm not sure what happened but they lost power."
A Sky TV spokesman said: "We had intermittent power problems. This was due to circumstances beyond our control. We are looking into it."
