CYBERFANS of Peter Kay have been logging on to the Bolton comic's official website -- only to find it is not working.
The site -- peterkay.co.uk -- tells fans only that the webname has been registered but it does not divulge any titbits of information on the comedian.
Scores of people have been trying to access the site after Peter's popularity soared due to the success of his highly-acclaimed Channel 4 series, Phoenix Nights, and his recent advertisements for John Smith's Bitter. He is such hot property at the moment that his forthcoming British tour, which includes 12 dates at The Lowry, is already a complete sell-out.
Peter's spokesman was unable to shed any light on why the comedian's website -- which was selling copies of the first series of Phoenix Nights on DVD and video -- is not working.
The spokesman said: "It is run by a fan. Peter and his agent do not have control over it.
"We would hope the site is back up and running as soon as possible."
