OLD Boltonians and Bury Grammar School had to settle for a 1-1 draw after an exciting clash in the Premier Division.
The home side had the better of the the first half, kicking with the wind and had several good efforts on goal which produced three brilliant saves from Bury goalkeeper Paul Crompton, while Paul Beesley and Ian Brown, both saw their efforts blocked.
Goalless at half time, Old Bolts took the lead after 48 minutes when Thompstone cheekily lobbed the ball over Crompton. Bury substitute Woods scored within one minute of coming on in the 50th minute with a cool finish, one on one with the keeper.
Newly promoted Radcliffe Amateurs continue to top the table after their third win defeating Old Blackburnians 5-3. Goals came from Steve Tuke, Mark Isherwood (2), Shaun Scully and Brett Hannah.
At one stage in the first half Radcliffe were 4-0 up and almost let it go during a sloppy period in the second half but they managed to stay in front to complete a deserved victory.
Horwich RMI made it two wins out of two in the Lancashire Amateur League Division One when they beat Broughton Amateurs away.
Man of the match Matt Harwood opened the scoring in the first half before Chris Wiliams sealed the victory with two second half strikes, the second a smart volley into the top corner.
The seconds lost 3-2 at home to Spotland Methodists.
