ONCE again the village of Prestolee, Stoneclough, is saddened by yet another child being killed from the village; three children in total -- two on the main road, one in the village itself -- within a few years.
And yet every time I have been to police meetings and brought up the dangers of the speeding cars and motorbikes (scrambling ones as well) speeding up and down Seddon Lane and around the village, I am told there is no money available, or every other excuse.
The village has been monitored twice through my fear of accidents; the last time a few months ago, when three cars were caught speeding in the village. Yet, when Longcauseway (which I would class as a main road) was monitored around the same time, it resulted in only one speeding car. Does that not speak for itself?
Come on, Bolton Council, get your act together and do something for Prestolee, Stoneclough. Cars are still parking on double yellow lines outside the post office on the blind bend mentioned in this latest accident.
Many thanks to Cllr Bill Collison, who acted on my behalf and got the job sorted out regarding yellow lines and 'keep clears'.
