Wanderers fans were warned today not to expect to see Ivan Campo in action for at least a fortnight.
Reebok assistant boss Phil Brown said Campo is unlikely to figure in the forthcoming Premiership clashes with the Big Three, Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal.
"He's going to have 10 days working with Paul Balsom (Wanderers' exercise and physiology consultant) in Sweden," Brown said, "and, unfortunately I won't get my hands on him for two weeks.
"But knowing Ivan's quality on the ball and his commitment to play he will soon be giving us selection problems."
Brown believes Campo's long-awaited arrival had an inspirational effect on the Bolton defenders who kept their first clean sheet since February against Aston Villa when they beat Aston Villa 1-0 at the Reebok on Sunday.
"Mike Whitlow and Gudni Bergsson, the two centre-halves had fantastic performances for me," he added. "They knew that Ivan Campo was there, just around the corner."
"That's the sort of competition for places we want."
