MONSTER visits have created a huge headache for staff at a Horwich supermarket.
Life-sized stuffed Monsters Inc characters, Sulley and Mike, have been sent by a promotional company to help the Asda Middlebrook store launch the video of the film, to be released tomorrow.
Children are invited to the store to have their photographs taken with the monsters for 50p to help raise money for the Ambulance Fund.
But the store then has to find a home for the two characters and because of their size -- Sulley is 6ft and Mike 3ft -- they are unsuitable for the average home.
Hygiene issues mean that children's wards and hospitals are also reluctant to accept such items because of their artificial fur.
Asda is asking charities and children's groups to apply to the store to give a home to one or both characters.
Elaine Cleworth, events co-ordinator with the Horwich store, said: "They would be ideally suited to an organisation concerned with children who would be able to put them on permanent display or transport them to fund-raisers for similar photo opportunities to raise funds."
Anyone interested in the monsters, should call 01204 699337 or write to Elaine at Adsa Stores Ltd, 43-53 The Linkway, Middlebrook, Horwich, Bolton, BL6 6JA. The closing date for entries is next Thursday.
