I KNOW that many of you are interested in local history (I expect the fact that you are reading this column confirms that).
Now is your chance to learn more about it, because a course is being held, called "An Introduction to the Local History of 19th and 20th Century Bolton".
It is organised by the Bolton WEA (Workers Education Association), and according to the tutor, Stuart Robinson, who has studied Bolton's history as part of his advanced degree course at Manchester University, it will concentrate on the town's social, political, and cultural development.
"In this way we may better understand and appreciate the everyday lives, struggles and culture of working people."
The 11 week course starts on Tuesday, September 17, between 1.45 and 3.45, at the Bolton Central Library meeting room. The cost is £39.60, concessions £31.90, and for those on benefits £7.
You can get more information on Bolton 304111 and Bolton 840195 (both after 6pm)
