HAMPENBERG isn't the most catchy name for a band, admittedly, but then, in case you hadn't guessed, these lot don't hail from Bolton.
In fact Hampenberg are a Danish trio made up of Thomas Salling, Morten Hampenberg and Lin Samuelsen, who are touring Europe to promote their latest album Duck Off and single Duck Toy.
Get ready to be highly entertained or incredibly irritated depending on how you feel about novelty records - the song, described as an extreme dance tune, samples the sound of a rubber duckie and sets it to a beat.
Okay it's not exactly rocket science but it seems to be working. The outfit have been getting rave reviews from around Europe and are hoping that this new album, also containing Latin-inspired track Salsation and the ballad Away from Home, will get them into the charts in Europe. To hear the band performing this
new track live, get down to Atlantis on Thursday night. You'd be, ahem, quackers to miss it.
