ONE of Europe's largest steel and timber footbridges is opening in Manchester. The £1.3 million structure spans the Mancunian Way, linking Hulme with the city centre.
Its designers hope it will make Hulme more attractive as a place to live, and help the environment by encouraging walking and cycling.
The horseshoe-shaped bridge sweeps across one of the busiest roads in Manchester, allowing pedestrians and cyclists to avoid heavy traffic.
