GRAHAM Taylor had a point when he moaned about the dodgy offside decision that denied Juan Pablo Angel a goal and possibly cost Villa a point at the Reebok.
Even Sam Allardyce sympathised.
But Villa could count themselves extremely lucky not to be down to 10 men at the time. That they still had their full complement was down to the leniency of referee Steve Dunn who, having awarded the game's decisive penalty, felt it sufficient to show Peter Enckelman the yellow card rather than the red for bringing down Henrik Pedersen.
As Wanderers' fans have rightly pointed out, Jussi Jaaskelainen was sent off by David Elleray for an identical foul on Derby's Lee Morris in the Premiership in March.
