BOLTON has a population of over 266,000 and an average attendance this year of 20,100.
If you consider that there have been perhaps 2100 away supporters for each game, that leaves around 18,000 home fans watching. That makes about one in every 15 Boltonians at the Reebok. Admitedy it is better than the one in 50 figure for Bury, who as a Third Division side have United, City, Wanderers and Blackburn to contend with.
But I doubt it makes us football mad.
