THE local cricket world was saddened last weekend by news of the death, at the age of 81, of Bradshaw stalwart Albert Kay.
Albert joined the club from Westhoughton in 1950. He played in the first team for 10 years, during which time he won the club batting prize three times, and was captain for two seasons.
When his playing days finished he involved himself in the running of the club, serving on the committee for 33 years, 10 of them as chairman. He was Life Member and a sometime trustee of the club.
At the time of his death he was living in Stoke-on-Trent.
