THE tallest piece of English art since Nelson's Column is being installed in the region this weekend.
Encounter, a 92ft-high statue, will be hoisted into position on a traffic island just off junction 11 M62 at Birchwood in Warrington.
The privately-funded work has been commissioned by the Birchwood Forum.
It is designed to symbolise the relationship between business and the community near Birchwood. It dwarfs the Angel of the North, which is 65ft tall.
