THE wife of missing grandad Richard Riley has won a pledge from an MP to try to get information on the search.
Bolton North East MP David Crausby has contacted the Foreign Office to try to find out any new clues in the hunt for the missing 77-year-old from Bury Road, Tonge Fold.
Mr Riley has now been missing for three weeks after vanishing during a holiday in Cala Galdana in Menorca.
Mr Crausby said: "When something like this happens abroad it very much depends on the country as to how much information you can get but Spain shouldn't be too bad."
"We will pursue the case, there may not be any new information which is no help to the family but I just want to make sure the case doesn't get put on a shelf and forgotten."
Mrs Riley's daughter Angela Rothwell said: "Mum is finding it quite hard to get information from the consulate so we're pleased that Mr Crausby has said he'll try to help."
Mr Riley was last seen on September 23 when he said he was going for a walk.
