TWENTY members of Royal Ashton AC fished their second Winter League of the season and the weights were well down on last week's returns when double figures made the frame.
Everybody fished the pole, but none better than John Crook who had silver fish on red maggot for a winning 4lbs-9ozs.
Two shared second place when Peter Lane and Darren Hanley both finished with 4lbs-6ozs.
Decent weights were recorded in the Ellis Crowther memorial Match fished by the members of Shore Top A.C. on their own Outwood water. Steve Booth had a carp and some skimmers to win the match on the pole with 14lbs-12ozs.
Second was Les Salmon and he too had double figures with an 11lbs-6ozs bag. Simon Stott was third with 8lbs-3ozs.
Last Wednesday's match on Doe Hey was won by Roland Stansfield when he caught an 11lbs-12ozs carp with fifteen minutes to go and that added to his 2lbs-4ozs perch gave him an untouchable 14lbs-2ozs.
Second was Bob Fearnhead with 6lbs-4ozs and third was Neil Hanson with 5lbs-12ozs.
Four days later fishing the same water in the Empress Cup Bob Fearnhead went one better to take the match with an all bit catch of 6lbs-6ozs.
Second was Trevor Barnes who finished with 3lbs-13ozs and third was Graham Wray who had 3lbs-11ozs.
