SALES of burgers and fries are helping schools around Bolton and Leigh to raise cash.
Drive-Thru McDonald's restaurants were taking part today in a world record charity challenge.
Staff were trying to serve as many Drive-Thru customers as possible during a two-hour period. Restaurants in Bolton and Leigh were joining in the national attempt to set a record. For every customer served, McDonald's is donating £1 to a nearby school.
Lindsey Apps, headteacher of Hindford CP in Leigh, was helping to hand out burgers at the McDonald's in Tyldesley Road, Leigh. The Bolton restaurants taking part were: Delph Hill, Chorley Old Road, (raising money for Johnson Fold CP); Astley Bridge (St Paul's CE); Middlebrook (Devonshire Road CP); China Gardens (St Peter and Paul RC); and Westhoughton (Eatock CP).
