A BOLTON company has provided three manually operated turntables for the Imperial War Museum North in Salford.
British Turntable Co in Emblem Street has created a moveable shop window at the entrance from the main foyer into the museum shop.
Technical Director David Houghton said: "The architects' main concerns were that the display units should be completely stable.
"It was also important that they could be moved relatively easily and locked into position to provide a totally safe environment for the visiting public to enjoy."
British Turntable expects the same sort of application to be ideal for hotels, exhibition/conference centres, universities/colleges, art galleries, heritage venues and public buildings which require flexible accommodation for exhibitions, displays and meetings of all kinds.
The British Turntable mechanisms enable three sections of the shop frontage to be swivelled to different angles and provide four distinctive entrances from the main foyer.
