FORMER Bolton League and Bolton Association cricketer Eric Woods collapsed and died while waiting to go on holiday.
Mr Woods, 56, died at his home in Winstanley, Wigan, as he waited for a taxi to take him and wife Kathleen to the airport for a holiday in San Francisco.
He played for Daisy Hill, Westhoughton and Eagley in the League and Association. Overall he took 504 wickets in the League and was leading amateur bowler in 1988.
He was later captain of Wigan team Highfield.
