Bolton Ladies HC 5 Bury 0: BOLTON Hockey Club's ladies returned to the form they showed last season with this comprehensive drubbing over newly-promoted Bury.
Bury tried to take the game to Bolton but were rocked by a penalty corner goal by player of the match Fiona Holdsworth after five minutes.
Bolton continued to press Bury into their own half and it was not long before Jenny Cocker dodged past the defence to slot the ball home.
The home side's pressure paid off again moments later with Holdsworth firing home another corner and, before the end of the first half, Ashton Duerden turned in a cross from Holdsworth to make it 4-0.
The second half saw Bury fight back in a more even contest but they could not break down Bolton's defence and Holdsworth completed her hat-trick with another penalty corner conversion.
