THE newest bar to grace Bradshawgate is Dali, which, true to its name, will be adorned with prints of paintings by the famous surrealist Salvador Dali.
It might seem like an adventurous theme for a town centre bar, but Dali's works have always attracted many different kinds of fans, his bizarre, dream like images creating worlds that intrigue and perplex in equal measure. His most famous paintings include Sleep, in which a huge mask is propped up on sticks, and The Persistence of Memory, which sees clocks melting and drooping in an almost liquid state. All of which should lead to an intriguing drinking experience. And, after a few pints, you might just understand what Dali was on about!
