Tyldesley RUFC 12, Workington 10: A WEEK after a performance described by many as one of the worst by a Tyldesley side, the response against title favourites Workington was a complete turnaround in form.
A length of the field try by Dickinson put Tyldesley ahead and minutes later a set penalty move saw the ball moved wide and an inch perfect pass from Dickinson allowed older brother Andrew to crash over the Workington line for a converted try.
The Second half saw Workington step up a gear but Tyldesley defended stoutly.
On Sunday Tyldesley travel to Warrington in the First Round of the Lancashire Trophy.
TYLDESLEY Knights came away from Sedgley Park with an impressive 33-16 win, with youngster Rick Pennington scoring twice.
THE Dragons won on their travels at Aspull thanks to a Chris Southern try and a conversion and penalty from Derek Robinson.
Next week both the Knights and the Dragons entertain neighbours Leigh at St George's Park.
