A TEAM of 85 children braved windy weather to take part in a sponsored walk for charity.
The boys and girls from the reception and nursery classes of Eatock primary school in Daisy Hill completed laps of their playground to raise cash for Cancer Research.
All the children were provided with pink helium balloons to carry on their stroll and they also received cuddly toy puppies as a thank you for taking part.
Headteacher Naomi Richardson said: "The children loved taking part and they understood that what they were doing would help people with cancer.
"It was such a success that we will definitely make it an annual event."
The total amount raised is not yet known, although it is likely to be a few hundred pounds.
