THERE is cause for celebration on Sunday as Manchester's independent hip hop label celebrates its eighth birthday.
Mark Rae, of Fat City Records, began Grand Central back in 1995, looking for like-minded artists to appear on the label.
His search was not in vain: Grand Central now boasts an eclectic and innovative array of artists, and is responsible for bridging the gap between live music and DJ sets with its successful clubnights.
On Sunday the label gets to showcase its talent, with sets from Mark Rae, the soulful Veba, Spikey T, Niko and Aim, who will be appearing with an eight piece band, while DJ action comes from Luke Unabomber and Darren Laws. It promises to be a grand night.
