BOLTON Under 14s begin their Greater Manchester Schools' League programme in confident mood when they take on Tameside at Hacken Lane on Saturday (October 19) at 10.30am.
The local youngsters have been busy preparing for the soccer season under team manager Jason Nash and made a bright start with a 5-2 win against Trafford in their challenge match at Ashton on Mersey last week.
Goals came from Matthew Conway (St. Joseph's), Adam Starkey (Sharples), Kane Bentley (Harper Green), Jacob Greenhalgh (Rivington and Blackrod) and Paul Oldham (Canon Slade).
That win should put Bolton in confident mood for their opening league fixture but they come up a against a Tameside outfit, who have scored 29 goals in their opening three games.
Tameside began with a with a 12-0 win at Blackpool, beat Manchester 4-2 in the league and trounced Rossendale 13-1 last week.
Bolton Under 15s are also in action taking on Sefton in a Northern Merit League match at Sharples School on Saturday, kick off 10.30a.m.
The Under 15s have had mixed fortunes so far beating Rossendale 3-1 in a challenge match and Wigan 5-3 in the Greater Manchester Schools' League but they have twice lost to Bury in the League and the English Schools' Wizards Trophy.
