I FEEL I must write regarding opposition to proposed the Argos store on Middlebrook.
I don't see the local residents who have to travel into either Bolton or Wigan by bus and hump their purchases all over town complaining. Maybe if Barbara Ronson had to do this, she would not object to an Argos store opening on her doorstep.
These local "representatives" are too quick to object to this and that, and keep blaming the "Middlebrook" retail park for the loss of business in Horwich, when it's a case of Horwich not providing the range of stores that people want, for years, not just now. All Middlebrook is is a "punchbag" and something to blame.
We are not all blessed with transport at our disposal. A lot of people still have to use public transport and it's costly for people who do, not to mention the unreliable service.
So, before our so-called representatives make any objections to amenities in Horwich, spare a thought for the majority who do want these stores nearer to home -- and try asking the people they represent.
