IN answer to Cllr Noel Spencer who wrote "Trying to put right years of Tory damage" (Bolton Evening News, September 19).
I wonder why it is that, whenever Farnworth's problems are pointed out, it seems to hit a nerve and send panic signals to certain Farnworth councillors.
Perhaps they may not be aware that, when they put themselves forward for election, they are expected to work for the good and the improvement of the town they represent.
Surely he must be aware of the national statistics and the school standards lists that shows Farnworth is always in a very poor position?
As one of the very well-paid councillors, he must know that Bolton town centre was fully transformed with Conservative government and European money, and money needed for Farnworth was also used to enhance Bolton.
After more than five years of a Labour Government, there is very little improvement, except for some road improvements that were sanctioned under the Conservative government.
I think it is time Cllr Noel Spencer and his Farnworth colleagues started improving the poor status of our town.
