A MAN has been fined after an argument with his former girlfriend ended with him slapping her across the face.
Marcus Wood, aged 32 of Fourth Street, Barrow Bridge, admitted assaulting his live-in girlfriend of two years .
Bolton magistrates were told that on September 27 the pair returned home from a day out drinking to find a letter informing them that they were being evicted from their home.
An argument developed during which Wood's girlfriend hit and kicked him before he retaliated.
Wood pleaded guilty to the offence which was described by his solicitor as "six of one and half a dozen of the other".
He was fined £50, ordered to pay £50 compensation to the victim and £55 court costs.
