CAMPAIGNERS helping a farmer facing eviction raised almost £400 towards his fund by auctioning off bric-a-brac.
The money will go towards farmer Arnold Davenport's fighting fund as he resists plans to evict him from Nab Gate Farm, Stitch-mi-Lane, Harwood, where he has lived since he was a boy.
The auction was held at the Scout Hut, off Longsight Lane, behind Longsight Methodist Church, and raised £387.
Items included a signed Bolton Wanderers football and a two-hour drive in a prestige classic car. The auction also featured lots of possible Christmas presents that were snapped up by eager bidders.
An internet auction of a highly sought-after jacket, worn by a crew member during the filming of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is also still on going.
The medium size jacket was donated by a campaign supporter who got it from a London film auction and placed it on the ebay website.
Anyone still wanting to make an offer for the jacket can do so at www.ebay.co.uk
Mr Davenport is subject to an eviction order by landowner Christopher Holt, who wants to sell the historic farmhouse and land to a developer.
