On Wednesday, I printed a picture from Mr Charles Sharp of Harwood, saying that it showed girls from the Swan Lane Mill, Bolton, in 1964 of on a picnic to Blackpool.
I have now had a call from Mrs Annie Cull, of Bushell Street, off Willows Lane, Bolton, who says that it was in fact at Cambrian (soft drinks) works, Daubhill.
"I worked at Swan Lane until I was 16, and then went to Cambrian. I am on the picture, and recognise many of the other girls. I was about 34 when the photograph was taken, and I am now 73," she says. Unfortunately I was unable to contact Mr Sharp to ask his reaction to this, but if he disagrees with Mrs Sharp, I am quite willing to let them fight it out between themselves!
