BEATEN 16 times in four visits to White Hart Lane, Jussi Jaaskelainen has a healthy respect for the Spurs attack.
But the Wanderers' keeper insists yesterday's wounds were self-inflicted.
"I don't think Spurs were a very good team," Jaaskelainen explained. "Last season they had more movement but this time I don't think they were as good as the scoreline says."
A 3-1 defeat sent Wanderers to the bottom of the Premiership, still without a league win at the North London ground for 43 years and humbled once more after last season's triple trouncing - 3-2 in the league, 6-0 in the Worthington Cup and 4-0 in the FA Cup.
But Jaaskelainen says they contributed to their own downfall.
"It's disappointing because we had a good chance to get some points but we gave three silly goals away," he added. "It's time we started to get hard, otherwise we won't compete with the other teams. Spurs were hard in midfield and we have to start giving it back ourselves.
"We have to work on how we are going to defend and start keeping those clean sheets. It's not nice to be at the bottom - last year we were only in the bottom three once and that was for just a two week period. It's important now that we work hard and keep our confidence high."
