"I read with interest the articles regarding the Cavalcade of Bolton in 1938," writes Miss G. Mort, of Stanley Road, Bolton.
"I was 17 at the time and in the ladies' section. Eva Callebaut was an extremely good producer and we all enjoyed ourselves very much. We all have something to remember it by, and I recall that in the same week as the Cavalcade, Neville Chamberlain came back with his piece of paper from Hitler saying 'Peace in our time'.
"We met with Miss Callebaut again in New Brighton on March 15, 1939, when she gave us her autograph. I also have the autograph of Phyllis Morley - I wonder if she is still around? Little did we know what 1939 would bring."
