TWO people have appeared before magistrates in connection with a series of street robberies.
Karl McLoughlin, aged 29, and wife Gaynor, aged 28, of Tonge Moor Road, Bolton, appeared at Bolton Magistrates Court on Saturday.
They each face two counts of robbery and a string of driving offences relating to a series of alleged hammer attacks in which motorists were robbed in their cars after their windows were smashed, in the Chorley Old Road and Albert Road areas of Bolton on Friday morning. The court was told the couple would be questioned by police in connection with a series of similar attacks earlier last week, thought to be theft incidents on Tonge Moor Road, Bolton.
The couple were remanded in custody to appear at Bolton Magistrates Court on Wednesday. No applications for bail were made.
