FORMER Bolton Wanderers favourite John McGinlay has been sacked by Ilkeston Town after just seven months in charge.
The Midlands club are propping up the Dr Marten's Premier League with just eight points which have all come at home.
McGinlay, who was previously in charge at cash-strapped Gresley Rovers, was axed after Ilkeston lost 6-2 at Hednesford at the weekend, conceding four goals in five minutes.
McGinlay said: "They are decent enough players although they have not lived up to their reputations."
The former Scotland striker strengthened the squad during the summer despite a shortage of cash, but it was not enough to prevent him being the sixth manager to get the chop at the club in the last two years.
