THE father of murdered prostitute Danielle Moorcroft today issued a "help find my daughter's killer" plea to Bolton Evening News readers.

Kevin Moorcroft made his emotional appeal as detectives put a £10,000 reward on the head of Danielle's killer.

The reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the man who battered the young vice girl to death.

The pregnant 21-year-old's body was found in a car park behind Bolton Community College, off Lower Bridgeman Street, on June 1.

She had sustained severe head injuries and was partially naked.

In an emotional plea Mr Moorcroft, aged 41, said: "I would urge anybody who knows who did this to come forward so that we can begin to grieve.

"Our family is in pieces at the moment. Everything about us is collapsing.

"We need to know the identity of the murderer so we can start getting on with our lives."

Mr Moorcroft travelled from Liverpool with Danielle's step-mother, Christine, and sister Janine to make his plea for help.

Danielle, who was a heroin addict, had grown up in Anfield with her family before moving to Bolton to live with a boyfriend about two years ago.

Janine, aged 20, had always dreamed that her older sister would give up prostitution and move back home.

She said: "Danielle was the most caring, loving person I have met in my life. Whenever she walked into a room it would light up.

"We were like twins. When she was younger she liked horses and dolls. She had lots of friends and she wouldn't harm anyone."

Danielle had not told her family that she was five months pregnant, but Janine is sure she would have been overjoyed.

The family have now named the unborn baby Callum.

Detectives say the 21-year-old victim was last seen getting into a dark saloon car near Trinity Way between 1am and 1.30am on June 1.

Her body was discovered in some bushes by another prostitute hours later at 5.40am.

Det Insp Mo Shafiq of Bolton CID today confirmed that a £10,000 reward would be given to anyone who could help them convict the killer.

He said: "We have interviewed 1,500 people and have watched hours of CCTV footage. Forensic specialists have also been examining material found at the murder scene.

"We are still following up a number of leads and are continuing to urge people to come forward. We want people to approach us before we go knocking on their doors."

Janine will launch her own appeal for information on Granada TV's Crimefile programme at 7.30pm tomorrow. Detectives will show CCTV footage of four figures, two of them thought to be the same man, that they want to interview.

Anyone with information is asked to phone the incident room on 0161 856 5961 or Crimestoppers on free phone 0800 555111. All calls will be treated with the strictest confidence.
