BURY and Radcliffe U16s League's representative team suffered a 2-1 home defeat against Blackpool Youth League.

They started brightly and went ahead midway through the first half after a cross from Ryan Hardman, of Little Lever, found the head of Chaddy End's Stuart Mcgill, who finished with style.

Blackpool equalised shortly afterwards when a fluke cross-in bounced over the keeper and went in front just before half-time with a low drive into the bottom corner.

Bury dominated and created a number of chances after the break but were unable to break down the Blackpool defence. Man of the match for Bury was Nick Murphy from Brandlesholme Warriors.

Elsewhere, Boothstown U11s romped to a 10-1 win away over Beechfield. Goals from Jack Stanistreet, Danny Lyle and two from Josh Wilson sent Boothstown into the interval 4-0 up. Further goals from Jordan Potter, Mike Smith, Liam Thornton, Joe Sherwin, Jack Byram and Tom Perkins sealed the rout.

In the U12s section, Boothstown defeated Duckinfield Yth in the County Cup, while Greg Renzulli scored both goals for Brandlesholme U14s in their defeat to Belden. Aaron Egan scored three for Belden with Ryan Thomas getting the fourth.

Gopal Chadda hit four in Woodbank U15s win over Fletcher Moss while Adam Wood of Marauders U16 scored two with scoring partner Darren Sullivan making it 3-0 against Bridge Colts.

Moorside v Astley Bridge provided the entertainment in the U18s League, with Astley Bridge running out winners at 9-3. Karl Travis scored five.
