RADIO One DJ Sara Cox has been named as one of Britain's most irritating DJs.
The Bolton lass came second to colleague Chris Moyles, who was slammed for waffling rather than telling listeners what song he is playing.
Sara's inclusion in the poll follows the loss of 700,000 listeners to her Breakfast Show. She was a joint runner-up with Radio Two rival Terry Wogan. The survey found 46 per cent of people were most annoyed at radio presenters who constantly talk and play jingles rather then deliver the tunes.
The next biggest irritant, named by 14 per cent, was the lack of information about the music DJs had played.
Stations playing music that listeners do not like was the third most common complaint for 12 per cent in the NOP poll of 1,000 people.
Vijay Solanki, marketing director of Shazam, which commissioned the survey, said: "I know from personal experience that radio presenters can have an annoying habit of not telling you about the music they have just played."
Worst offenders for not naming tunes, according to the survey:
1. Chris Moyles (Radio 1).
2. Sara Cox (Radio 1).
3. Terry Wogan (Radio 2).
4 Chris Tarrant (Capital FM)
5. Jonathan Ross (Radio 2).
6. Neil Fox (Capital FM/Pepsi Chart).
7. Zoe Ball (XFM/ ex-Radio 1).
8. Daryl Denham (Virgin Radio).
9. Ken Bruce (Radio 2).
10. Steve Wright (Radio 2).
