THE battle of Bolton South took place when 26 anglers from Ringley-based Lord Nelson AC and Kearsley AC held an inter-club match on Rudyard Lake.
And it was the Kearsley boys who took the honours for the second year in succession. An angler from each club had a share of first place when Martin Owen for Lord Nelson and John Berry for Kearsley both returned 4lbs-10ozs.
Alan Gregory headed a trio of Kearsley anglers when he took third spot with 2lbs-8ozs of roach and perch on caster. Andy Bridge came in fourth with 2lbs-5ozs-8drs and Vinnie Felton came in fifth with 2lbs-3ozs. Sections 'A' Darren Bridge KAC, 'B' Jock Porter LNAC, 'C' Vinnie Felton KAC. Points Kearsley A.C. 110 points, Lord Nelson A.C. 125 points.
