SINGLES - Hell Is For Heroes - Night Vision (Out now)
FOLLOWING a certain lager that reaches the parts other beers can't, Hell is for Heroes are touring towns many bands don't.
After a year that saw them draw huge crowds at Reading and Leeds, they are supporting Papa Roach's UK tour, which kicks off next month.
They play Manchester Apollo on November 3, when their new single, the rocking Night Vision, will get its first live airing.
Should be good.
Idlewild - Live in a Hiding Place (Out now)
THE third single from top-three album The Remote Part is a decent REtyle country pop offering.
Following a re-release of the top ten hit You Held The World In Your Arms, Live in a Hiding Place should be a good 'un at Manchester Academy on December 15, after their European tour with Coldplay.

Aim - The Girl Who Fell Through The Ice (Out now)
FEATURING Kate Rogers, this is a haunting Dido-esque recollection of a girl falling through the ice with no one doing anything to rescue her, making you realise how important it is to be loved.
Just as good as when I first heard it at the beginning of the year.

ALBUMS
Cabaret Voltaire - The Original Sound Of Sheffield 78/82
Out now, Mute
THINK electro punk, think Human League, think Throbbing Gristle, think Fad Gadget, think Cabaret Voltaire.
Things to look forward to include: Do The Musolini (headkick), Silent Command, Split Second Feeling, Wait & Shuffle and Loosen The Clamp.
Also on its way will be a Cabs DVD and a CD box set, probably early next year.
LUCRECIA
AGUA
Out now, Eastwest
CUBAN Lucrecia's debut UK single, Mi gente, impressed me earlier this month.
And she's picked up where she left off with this strong, sensual collection with its firm Hispanic roots.
I recently called her Gloria Estefan with a bit more oomph and I still think that sums it up.
Decent.
BOOTSY COLLINS
PLAY WITH BOOTSY
Out now, Eastwest
FOURTEEN years after his first effort, Bootsy Collins has come up with his second tribute to funk.
This time round, we find Bootsy with Fatboy Slim on The bomb; Snoop Dogg, Daz & Colin Rich on Play with Bootsy; Fat Joe, Cherine Anderson and Will Guice on Soul sista; and Bobby Womack and One on Groove eternal.
Get down and boogie.
Lemon Jelly - Lost Horizons (Out now)
FANTASTIC sounds with weird vocals and voiceovers.
I loved Space Walk when I heard it a couple of weeks ago, and have a couple of new favourites from this -- Nice Weather For Ducks; Ramblin' Man and Return to Patagonia.
Mind you, they all sound really good.
