Where?

Residing in Bolton's answer to Times Square - Nelson Square

What?

Life Bar Caf is probably the most modern bar in Bolton at the moment. It's very spacious with seating and tables around the outskirts leaving plenty of space for "mingling" in the middle, with a separate raised eating area which doubles up as the VIP area at the weekend, and some rather impressive glass screens which fold back to reveal a nightclub area at the back.

Handbag or Heavy metal?

During the day and early evening the music is chilled and relaxing and there's a good mix to please everyone. At night a DJ in the nightclub area provides the bar with all the latest dance and R&B.

The In Crowd

So far I've bumped into Ashley and Tyrone from Corry, Donna and Katie from Eastenders and even PJ from Big Brother! Well, I say "bumped" I made eye contact with Tyrone but before the excitement got too much, I tore myself away from his gaze! Oh I still dream about him now.

What's the damage?

Well the only negative thing I can say about Life is that those of you who are trying it for the first time may get a shock when you look at your bar bill. However, the prices are justified by the night you have. Put it this way - you have the choice of buying two identical jumpers; one has a designer label worth £100, the other has no label and is worth £30. Those of you who buy the designer label, buy it because of the quality and because it looks better. Okay, every bar and punter in it looks the same after 10 pints, but you get my gist!

Verdict?

Lively, trendy and packed to the rafters every weekend. Life has found that balance that, until now, Bolton lacked. Somewhere you can spend all night and not get bored. Plus, if celebrity spotting is your thing it's worth popping in. And the food is rather good, too.
